How To Become A Member at Union Baptist Church
- By Salvation – While salvation can happen anywhere, we are scripturally commanded to make a public profession of that faith.
- When a person comes to know Jesus, we present them to our church family in one of our public services so that we can celebrate with them, while partnering with them for their growth.
- Whenever possible, this new believer will make plans to be baptized (by immersion).
- This new believer will also fill out the Membership Questionnaire, as well as be interviewed by a Pastoral Staff member and a Deacon. This document helps us look for ways to assist you in spiritual growth.
- The New believer is then encouraged to attend New Christians class, where they will learn the basics of how to live as a new follower of Jesus.
- This new believer is encouraged to attend the Membership Class, which is offered at least twice per year.
- This new believer will also be connected to a small group, or a life group, to provide deeper spiritual growth and much needed fellowship.
- By Transfer of Letter (membership) – This is when a person has already made a profession of faith and been baptized (by immersion) as a testimony of that faith at a church of like faith. Our church will then notify the other church of their new membership.
- If this is done during a worship service, then we gather basic information at that time, present their interest to our church to affirm their decision.
- *If not done during a worship service, we still gather basic information, and later present their interest to the church during a time of public worship.
