Who to contact: Don & Angie McGeorge Whenever you sit in a service at UBC, there is a group of highly motivated individuals working just out of your sight to make sure that your experience is both engaging and memorable. They serve in the areas of sound, media, tape/CD, Powerpoint, and video. The A/V Team assists the other ministries of the church by facilitating high-quality audio, video and by providing knowledgeable technical assistance in these areas. Jason Wilhelmus Who to contact: Visual/PowerPoint Team: Beth Victor Baptism Ministry Who to contact: Doug & Beth Ann Bruening The Baptist Women group meets monthly to study about Southern Baptist missions (foreign, home, state). We then try to promote missions offerings within Union Baptist Church as well as organize and promote mission-in-action projects. Who to contact: Jeanette Smith Through Barnabas Ministry, we seek to encourage and minister to the suffering among UBC membership and Union community through the sending of cards, letters, phone calls, etc. Who to contact: Cindy Harney Communications / Publicity Ministry Who to contact: Couples Ministry is designed to enhance the marriages of our church couples by giving them the chance to meet and fellowship with other church couples. As married couples we need to minister to each other and lift each other up not only in the church setting but outside of the church as well. We plan events to build relationships that can stand strong in the bond of Christianity. It is important to express that "Couples" includes every couple, regardless of age. Who to contact: Beth Ann Bruening Discipleship Ministry Who to contact: Contact the church at 384-3855 In a growing church such as UBC, people connect with one another in small groups for the purpose of helping each other grow toward Christ-like maturity. Small groups will be meeting at church and in member’s homes for the study of God’s Word, fellowship with other believers, and prayer. In addition, small groups often meet for social activities or to participate together in ministry or missions projects. Who to contact: Scot Hendricks Evangelism Who to contact: Dr. Kevin Milburn This ministry assists with and carries out the outreach activities of UBC. With Matthew 28:19-20 and Acts 1:8 as two of many scriptural references admonishing Christ's disciples to make disciples, this ministry team leads the charge to "be witnesses" in Union, Boone County, and beyond. Who to contact: Jeff Pahl Faithfully Fit is an outreach program centralizing on the need for Christian-based fitness classes in the community. The mission for the ministry is to encourage instruct others to be good stewards of their health and to thank God for the blessings of life. Through building relationships with participants, we are able to be a spiritual lifeline during major events such as the birth of new babies, surgeries, and the loss of loved ones. Who to contact: Tammy Bixler The Fellowship Ministry Team wishes to build and strengthen Christian relationships both within the UBC church family and with the un-churched by providing church wide worship/fellowship activities. Who to contact: Sandi Brzezinski Greeters provide the first impression for those who come to Union Baptist Church. With a smile they welcome all who pass through our doors, handing out bulletins and directing visitors to Bible Study classes, Child Care (if needed) and worship. This ministry is also in charge of the Welcome Center which helps provide visitors with needed information. Providing a warm friendly atmosphere for visitors and members is an important part of this ministry. Who to contact: Don & Jean McClurg Grounded Who to contact: Susan Forman The purpose of this ministry is to reach out to our church members and members of our community that are in need. Who to contact: Dale Bryant The International Missions Board is an arm of the Southern Baptist Convention. They coordinate volunteer participation in mission work overseas. Are you ready to respond to the challenge of volunteering overseas? You won’t regret it! Just ask those who have gone before you. Each year more than 30,000 volunteers—people like yourself—go in His power throughout the world as evangelists, teachers, prayerwalkers, musicians, athletes, medical personnel, Vacation Bible School workers, agriculturists and more. Thousands of opportunities exist for volunteers to serve in assignments ranging from a few days to four months. These opportunities are available to individuals and groups of all ages. Who to contact: Ed Brzezinski The Kitchen Ministry's purpose is to oversee the kitchen area of Union Baptist. This includes stocking supplies, use of the kitchen, and cleaning. Who to contact: Jeanette Powers This ministry plans ongoing Bible studies and special events to introduce men to Christ, to help them grow in the fulfillment of their God-given responsibilities to their families & communities through application of biblical truths, and to enable them to build trusting relationships with other men. We seek to honor Jesus Christ through worship, prayer, and obedience to God’s Word in the power of the Holy Spirit. Who to contact: Keith Underwood The Music Ministry is a dedicated group of singers and instrumentalists who serve an active role in our worship services, challenging and preparing the heart for the Word of God. The Celebration Choir provides a unique opportunity for those desiring to serve the Lord in a musical capacity and experience the fellowship of a wonderful loving family of believers! Who to contact: Arnie Forman The function of the church’s Nominating Committee is to coordinate the staffing of leadership positions filled by volunteers. Who to contact:Jeff Smith The Prayer Ministry exists to honor and love God through encouraging, equipping, and inviting people to pray. We strive to love God and love people as we pray together. Our goal is to help UBC become a truly united “House of Prayer”. Who to contact: C.J. Victor Preschool / Children's Ministry Volunteers in this ministry will serve and glorify God by encouraging the Christian growth of pre-schoolers and children. The gospel will be presented to help them to know, love and follow Jesus. This will be done in a caring, safe environment for infants through grade four by putting them in age appropriate groups. Who to contact: Pat Durham The Senior Adult Ministry strives to encourage and promote fellowship among our UBC senior adults. It is our intention to provide a place for single young adults, in college or working, to be challenged in their walk with Christ, to grow in relationships with each other, and to reach out to others in the community. They need someone to listen to them – to be a good listener. We preach the Gospel and share Jesus with them. Who to contact: Bill Sturdivant Union Baptist Church Preschool Who to contact: Laura Johnson 384-3855 This ministry provides an awesome opportunity to get involved at Union Baptist Church and serve God by greeting folks as they enter into the sanctuary, assist individuals to their seats as needed, be a communication mechanism for other UBC ministries during Sunday services, distribution and collection of visitor cards, and participation in prayer and collection of the Lord’s offering. Who to contact: Keith Underwood A visual image is portrayed upon entering the front doors of UBC, continuing into the Worship Center. Our team addresses the challenge of creating pleasing aesthetics in our church without being overly distracting. The mission of this ministry is to honor God with our talents and time and to portray servitude. His house is to be a house of praise. Who to contact: Tammy Bixler and Heather Main The Women’s Ministry at Union Baptist Church strives to change the lives of the ladies in our church and community by providing the opportunity to develop a closer relationship with Christ by studying God’s Word. We also provide opportunities to develop relationships with other Christian ladies through different fellowship events and through prayer time. Who to contact: Beth Webster The Youth Ministry at Union Baptist Church exists to introduce junior and senior high students to Jesus Christ, incorporate them into the church, and instruct them to live as His disciples. In order to accomplish this we seek the support and involvement of students inside and outside the church, families with junior and senior higher students, and the entire church body.
